Disability support workers play a vital role in ensuring quality of life outcomes for people with lived experience of disability. This micro-credential focuses on understanding this role and the importance of working within industry-standard professional frameworks.
It is a suitable learning option for people starting work in the disability sector and existing workers wishing to upskill or refresh their knowledge. It is also suitable for jobseekers and those workers transitioning from other industries who are looking to enter
community and disability services.

You will learn:
Introduction to cultural sensitivity and cross-cultural communication.
No. This is a standalone course that introduces you to a wide variety of topics relevant to support work.
The course includes a short quiz at the end of the online content.
This short quiz will test your knowledge of the content that has been covered in the online course.
You will be allowed unlimited attempts to correctly answer all the questions in the quiz. On subsequent attempts you will have to re-answer incorrectly answered questions only.
The course should take approximately 1 to 2 hours to complete and is self-paced.
A digital badge is a validator of what you have achieved by completing the course. This badge is a digital certificate to recognise your learning outcomes.
The badge can be carried across the industry to demonstrate your learning outcomes.
After successful completion of the course, you will receive a notification within your online content. This notification provides instructions on how to access your digital badge.
If you have a Badgr.com account registered with the same email you used to enrol you can access your badge by logging into your existing account.
If you do not already have a Badgr.com account, you will receive an email from Badgr Australia noreply@au.badgr.io when your badge is ready.
Note: it can take up to 48 hours for a badge to be issued.
